Getting Started

Most people are extremely lost when it comes to getting started with Medicare. We want to ensure you understand and feel comfortable knowing how Medicare works. Here are some steps to take when you are first eligible for Medicare:

• Ensure you are eligible for Medicare
• Learn about the costs of Medicare so you can determine how much you will be paying
• Once you have that information, you will want to contact Social Security to apply for Medicare by calling: 1-800-772-1213, visiting ssa.gov, or by going to your local Social Security office
• Once you have applied, you will receive your Red, White, and Blue Medicare ID card. Ensure that it shows you are enrolled in Part A and Part B
• Learn about your options: Medicare Advantage Plan or Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan
• Learn about Medicare Part D and decide which Prescription Drug Plan works for you
• • Continue to review your options each year to ensure you are still on a plan that suits your needs
