URGENT MESSAGE REGARDING YOUR BLUE CROSS POLICY!

If you’re getting this email, you most likely have what is known as a “Grandmothered” policy.
Due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas is discontinuing this plan effective December 31, 2014.  You’ll receive a notice in the mail from BlueCross explaining everything very soon.

Q: What does this mean to you?
A: You will have to get a new policy in place starting January 1, 2015 to avoid a lapse in coverage.

Q: How do I get a new plan?

A: Innovative Insurance Solutions is available to work with you to compare all plans, carriers, and options to make sure you have the best plan in place at the best cost.
Q: Will the new plan cost more?
A: Innovative Insurance Solutions won’t know for sure until we see the new rates and also ask you questions about your family size, income level, and access to group coverage.

Q: What is the next step?
A: Watch for the letter from Blue Cross Blue Shield. To assist us and our clients, they have a new dedicated phone line and support staff to discuss all the new plan options effective January 1 2015. We are also available to you anytime to make this transition as smooth as possible. If Blue Cross Blue Shield is not the best carrier for you, we will compare it to Humana, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, and Assurant.

Q: Will I pay less if I go direct to the carrier or healthcare.gov?
A: Absolutely not. Innovative Insurance Solutions has gone through extensive training and certifications to provide an exceptional level of service that does not cost you anything. Insurance is what we do and what we know. The Affordable Care Act has made it more confusing than ever. Don’t try this alone.

Things to consider:

• Lower Monthly Premiums with a subsidy:  If you don’t have access to employer sponsored coverage through your job or a spouse, based on family size and income, you may get help with your premium.  See chart for 2014 (2015 will be out soon)  Family Size & Income

• Think about the type of plan you need.  How many times do you go to the doctor, are your prescriptions expensive?  This will help us help you pick the best plan.
• Medical underwriting has gone away.  Everyone is accepted, no pre-existing condition limitations.
• To ensure that you remain covered under a health care plan in 2015, you MUST select a new ACA compliant plan by Dec. 31, 2014, for a Jan. 1, 2015, effective date. (Please note that the Dec. 31, 2014, date applies only to plans that are being discontinued.)

Important Dates to Remember:

• Nov. 15, 2014 – First day of the open enrollment period when we may begin reviewing, quoting and enrolling our clients in 2015 plans; Annual Premium Tax Credit verification of eligibility may also begin at this time
• Dec. 31, 2014 – Final day for a Jan. 1, 2015, start date
• Feb. 15, 2015 – Last day of the open enrollment period
